Over 100 Civilians dead and injured - School and Hospital hit by Sri Lanka Army Multi-Barrel rocket and artillery attack

Over 100 persons have been killed or injured in an artillery (multi-barrel rocket) attack by the Sri Lanka Armed Forces in Vaharai, Batticaloa District. Forty (40) bodies have been recovered including 6 babies between the ages of 3 and 6 months. 76 persons have been admitted to the hospital. Get Full Press Release (PDF)

Year after Tsunami

Tsunami continues to affect Sri Lankans. Over 40,000 Sri Lankans are dead and over 1,000,000 are displaced. Majority of them are still in transitional camps.


TRO receives award from Sri Lankan Government
TRO received an award on 22 August 2005 from President Chandrika Kumaratunga. To date TRO has completed over 8,500 temporary shelters. Full Story
