Children and Mothers

several institutions including Gandhi Illam, Gurukulam and Chiruvar Pathukapu Illam have been established to car for over 700 destitute children under a Child Sponsorship Program. Another program cares for 1000 childrens.

Nutritional Rehabilitation

Over 50% of Tamil children under the age of 5, living in Northeastern Sri Lanka, suffer from acute malnutrition. TRO has set up over 31 Nutrition Centers to provide nutrition and education aimed at eradicating malnutrition among infants and lactating mothers.

Rapid Rehabilitation Development Service Project

Under this program over 75 local NGOs have been empowered to carry out relief programs. Over 100 million Rupees is spent on this program per annum.
